THE HOTEL NANTUCKET
by Elin Hilderbrand
MINI REVIEW
Elin Hilderbrand has perfected her trademark Nantucket summer story in this gem of a book. There are many reasons why it sat in the number one spot for weeks on The New York Times Fiction Bestseller list. The Hotel Nantucket follows protagonist, Lizbet Keaton, after she breaks up with her longtime boyfriend and leaves the restaurant where they both worked. In her new job as manager of the recently renovated Hotel Nantucket, she hopes to take charge of her romantic life and her career. Hilderbrand staffs the luxury hotel with colorfully entertaining characters and guests, many playing key roles in the plot of the novel. The hotel’s owner remains an enigma, as does an Instagram influencer whose reviews can make or break a new hotel. Add to the story visitations by the ghost of a chambermaid who died during a fire at the old Hotel Nantucket in 1922, and The Hotel Nantucket becomes an addictive read. Fast-paced and fun, I highly recommend The Hotel Nantucket. (Liz)
