Not at all what I expected from the title, this book reads almost like a diary of the year following the sudden and unexpected death of Didion’s husband. Her writing is so intensely beautiful and thought-provoking, I found myself wanting to examine my own life and relationships. So, maybe it’s a bit of a self-help book after all. (Lily)
