MOONWALKING WITH EINSTEIN; The Art And Science Of Remembering Everything
by Joshua Foer
Moonwalking With Einstein is one of those books that I somehow never got around to reading when it came out in 2011 and I always felt like I should have read. You know, those books that everyone talks about and you feel like you’re missing out somehow because you didn’t read them? So here it is six years later and I finally read it. And…? I was disappointed.
Maybe I was naïve, but I thought that by reading this book I would acquire skills to help me remember things better in my every day life. What Foer writes is an excruciatingly detailed account of his journey to become a champion in the U.S. Memory Championship. Granted, there are interesting details included, but overall way more than I needed or wanted. And I really found myself slogging through much of his prose.
Most disappointing however, I came away with no new tools to improve my memory. For that reason, Moonwalking With Einstein was not my cup of tea. (Liz)
