PROZAC NATION
by Elizabeth Wurtzel
Prozac Nation was on my reading list as one of those famous books I felt like I should have read. I don’t regret reading it, and am very glad it exists in the world for those who read it and see their own struggle, helping them to feel less alone. However, it is definitely not the type of story I need in my life right now. It’s not that I only want happy stories, but a book so focused on the inner workings of depression and a young life almost destroyed by lack of treatment and parental strife is just not what I am looking for before bed every night. I think this book would be interesting, and even important, for many people but it was just not my cup of tea. (Lily)
